    Flow Sensors - Overview

    The RISONIC modular system consists of three components:

    Function
    If a medium flows upwards through the vertically mounted measuring tube at a sufficient flow velocity, the float is raised to the point at which a state of equilibrium sets in between the lifting force of the medium and the weight of the float. As the mean flow velocity is proportional to the quantity flowing through per unit of time, this state of equilibrium corresponds to the measurement of the current flow volume.

    The Georg Fischer 2551 Magmeter is an insertion magnetic flow sensor that features no moving parts, available in corrosion-resistant materials to provide long-term reliability with minimal maintenance costs. Utilizing the comprehensive line of Georg Fischer installation fittings, sensor alignment and insertion depth is automatic.     Georg Fischer 2551 Magmeters offer many output options of frequency/digital (S3L) or 4 to 20 mA which are available on both the blind and display versions.     The Model 515 sensors are offered in a variety of materials for a wide range of pipe sizes and insertion configurations. The many material choices include PP and PVDF make this model highly versatile and chemically compatible to many liquid process solutions. Sensors can be installed in up to DN900 (36 in.) pipes using Signet's comprehensive line of custom fittings which include tees, saddles, and weldolets, set the sensor to the proper insertion depth into the process flow.
