  • Open Channel Flow Meter | RWPLCM

Open Channel Flow Meter - Overview

The Open Channel Flow Meter is an economical solution for open channel measuring. It measures level, flow rate and total volume of water flowing through weirs and flumes.  The meter includes a non-contact ultrasonic level sensor to detect the water level which then calculates the flow rate and volume using the Manning equation and channel characteristics. Economical and reliable. The accuracy of change in level is 1mm. Suitable for a variety of weirs and flumes, Parshall flumes (ISO),  V-Notch weirs, Rectangular weirs (With or Without End Contractions) and custom Formula-type weirs. The meter displays flow rate in L/S, M3/h or M3/min. It has a clear display with a backlit graphical LCD. The cable length between the probe and host is up to 1000m. The probe has a leak-proof structure and IP68 protection grade. It is chemically resistant for maximum application flexibility. Communications include a 4-20mA output and RS485 serial communication (MODBUS-RTU) output. It has 6 programmable relays for alarms. There are three buttons for programming or it can be remotely controlled for easy configuration and operation. The Open Channel Flow Meter is well suited for applications ranging from flow for water treatment plants, storm and sanitary sewer systems, effluent from water resource recovery, to industrial discharge and irrigation channels.
