  • Platon Pelton Wheel Flow Meter | DS1010

    Platon Pelton Wheel Flow Meter - Overview

    This turbine flowmeter operates on the Pelton wheel principle for low flowrate applications on low viscosity fluids. The Pelton wheel retains a manageable diameter allowing close machining tolerances whilst being capable of handling very low flow rates with reasonable accuracy. The units may be used for additive flows, fuel consumption metering, perfumes, colourings etc. A range of interchangeable metering plugs may be provided within one body size, so that flow ranges may be changed very simply. Construction is in stainless steel as the standard but other materials may be used to suit the corrosive properties of the metered fluid. Flanges to ANSI, EN1092-1 or BS10 may be fitted and a design is also available with Ermeto or BSP couplings for high-pressure hydraulic work. The Pelton wheel is a star-shaped paddle wheel housed within a metering plug containing a small jet hole where a high-velocity jet is aimed at the rotor. Rotational speed and hence frequency are directly proportional to flow rate. The sharp edges of the rotor are detected by a reluctance pick-off coil and an alternating voltage is generated.

  • Pressure Reducing Valve | 582

    Pressure Reducing Valve - Overview

    The pressure-reducing valve reduces the outlet pressure to a specified value. Pressure-reducing valves are often used to protect downstream devices against overpressure. The downstream pressure works against the spring resistance and raises the diaphragm until equilibrium is reached. The desired outlet pressure is regulated using the spring pre-tensioning. The inlet pressure is not directly related to the outlet pressure. The pressure at the outlet thus remains constant despite fluctuations at the inlet. The diaphragm is not influenced by pressure peaks, meaning sensitive measuring devices can be protected downstream. The set pressure can be increased by turning the spindle at the top of the valve in a clockwise direction. Turning it counterclockwise reduces the set pressure. Inward-pointing arrows assist in visualising the direction of the flow and the pressure setting, making handling easier.  Applications include water treatment, chemical processing, the semiconductor industry and the solar industry. Suitable for neutral and aggressive media with a small amount of particles or solids.

  • Platon Plastic Tube VA Meter | DS1132 GR/GRV

    Platon Plastic Tube VA Meter - Overview

    The Platon GR/GRV flowmeters are moulded plastic tube variable area meters with ball floats. The precision moulded tapered tube has guides to stabilise the float, allowing easy flow reading against the clear 50mm long scale. Units are available calibrated for air or water flows. Typical applications are for operator monitoring of cooling, purging or sample flows. The GRV option has a built-in multi-turn flow control valve for simple adjustment of flow rates. Designed for vertical mounting on a control panel, the flowmeter is supplied with brackets for flush mounting through a cut-out of approximately 116 x 19mm. Alternatively, the meter can be surface mounted. For an immediate indication of process alarm conditions, adjustable transparent indicators can be clipped into the flowmeter face, presenting a red limit line at the required flow rate. These accessories can be used to show the limits of normal flow adjustment or an alarm level. Reliable and rugged process connections are made to stainless steel 1/8 NPT female threads built into a stainless backplate within the meter. The polycarbonate body and flow tube are O-ring sealed to the backplate, and can simply be disassembled for any necessary cleaning or interchange of flow scales.

  • Pressure Reducing Valve | V82

    Pressure Reducing Valve - Overview

    The pressure-reducing valve adjusts itself using the differential pressure to the set working pressure. If the outlet pressure increases or decreases to above/below the desired value, the diaphragm is lifted against the spring resistance or pressed down by the spring resistance by the outlet pressure. The pressure-reducing valve begins to close/open until the state of equilibrium is reached again. This allows outlet pressure to remain constant, regardless of the increasing or decreasing inlet pressure. The V82 Pressure Reducing Valve is made of durable, corrosion-free plastic and contains an actuator that is hermetically sealed against aggressive media in the pipe system. Can be installed in virtually any position. This valve is also available for pipes with bigger dimensions.

  • Event Detection System | ana::tool

    Event Detection System - Overview

    ana::tool identifies unknown and unusual conditions and enables operators to react timely to faults in the monitored system. It determines the normalcy of data and triggers an alarm when a significant deviation from normal is detected. ana::tool evaluates measurement data that have been cleaned by the validation module. It combines Static Alarms, Dynamic Alarms, Pattern Recognition and Spectral Alarms. Once an alarm is detected, the user has to provide feedback, so the system can learn which alarms are real and which ones represented normal changes in water quality. This will increase system performance over time. Gradual composition changes (e.g. seasonal variations) are accounted for by automatic training on a moving time window. It has an open interface to all types of sensors and measuring devices from other manufacturers. Other data sources can also be used.

  • Pressure Retaining Valve | V86

    Pressure Retaining Valve - Overview

    The V86 Pressure Retaining Valve works to keep the pressure at the valve inlet constant at all times, ensuring problem-free operation of the system as a whole. It is made for pipes of larger dimensions. The V86 pressure retaining valve serves to keep the working or system-related pressures constant, to balance out pressure pulsation and to reduce pressure peaks in chemical process systems. If the inlet pressure rises above the set value, the pressurised valve piston is lifted against the spring resistance. As a result, the valve opens and the pressure in the outlet pipe is reduced. The valve closes as soon as the inlet pressure sinks below the pre-set spring tension. For neutral and aggressive media with a small number of particles or solids. The chemical resistance depends on the selected valve material.

    • No auxiliary energy required
